HI, I'M SYDNEY
Photographer, mom of two, professional overthinker, coffee, matcha, Alani, Vanilla Coke enthusiast, and firm believer that the best locations are usually the ones that make you say, “wait… here?”
I’m based in La Grange, Texas, but my work takes me all over Central Texas documenting people in a way that feels a little less posed and a lot more like them. Give me an open field, a dimly lit bar, an old motel, a gas station, or somewhere we probably weren't originally planning to shoot, and I'm happy.
My approach is equal parts direction and letting things unfold. I'll tell you what to do with your hands, fix the tiny things you don't notice, and probably make you do something that sounds ridiculous until you see the photo. I want the polished ones, of course, but I also want the movement, the weird little in-between moments, and the images that actually feel like a memory.
Sydney Romero Photography is an atelier without walls.
There isn't one studio, one backdrop, or one version of what a session with me should look like. We build it around you. Sometimes that's barefoot in a field at sunset. Sometimes it's flash in a dark bar. Sometimes it's your family piled together in the grass. Sometimes we're standing outside a gas station at blue hour because I swear the light is going to be worth it.
The location changes. The people change. The story changes.
That's kind of the point.
I'm running on caffeine, listening to music that makes me sound like a divorced dad, editing, or convincing myself I absolutely do not need another creative project. I'm sarcastic, I laugh a lot, I probably cuss more than this website lets on, and I'm very much a “we'll figure it out” person even though I have probably spent the better half of a day planning.
I don't expect you to show up knowing how to pose or magically feeling comfortable in front of a camera. That's my job. You just show up as yourself. I'll handle the rest.
